Triund tekking in overcast conditions!

One of the most popular treks and a famous weekend getaway located in Mcleodganj, Dharamshala at the foothills of Dhauladhar Ranges.
It acts as a gateway for onward Lahesh cave/Laqa Glacier trek and Indrahar pass trek.
You can begin trekking either from dharamkot (till where most taxies ply) or continue your own taxi till Gallu Devi temple, which will save about 2km of trekking distance at the cost of a fairly bumpy ride(as of October 2021).
You can have refreshments at rest-a-while cafe before you begin your ascend.
Throughout your ascend you'll get a bird's eye view of the HCPA cricket stadium, Dharamshala provided you carry a camera with a good optical zoom.
Your first major stop would be at Magic view cafe, after approximately 3km of trekking uphill.
Make sure to fill up your bottles and eat adequately as the resources uphill from here on get scarce.
The final 1km of ascend is somewhat of big rocks/boulders.
At the summit, you'll get a panaromic view of the entire Dhauladhar Ranges on one side and Kangra valley on the other side.

Altitude at summit - 9350 ft.

Approximate distance (one way)- 6km.

Approximate altitude gain (from Gallu Devi temple) - 2450 ft (750metres).
